In 2006, a group of independent artists completed their studies at
ArtEZ, Institute of the Arts in
the Netherlands. Sharing a mutual passion for Music, Film, Fashion and
Design, they joined forces in creating the enchanting, audiovisual world
of Lolly Jane Blue.
The first outing to the public was the 2007 Music Film
Worms,
which enjoyed international acclaim and won a hand full of prizes. A
live tour with the support of Mojo Concerts followed in 2008, kicking
off at Noorderslag, Groningen.
The second Music Film
White Swan was
completed in the Summer of 2009. Once again, the film claimed praise
and multiple awards internationally; the most recent of which was
awarded by Music Video Legend Anton Corbijn and Actor / Director Rutger
Hauer.
In 2010, the Lolly Jane Blue project expanded with artists internationally.
In the fall of 2011, Lolly Jane Blue started her Dutch theatre tour
in which she takes audiences on her journey through magical songs and
mesmerizing films. The final direction was in the hands of famous
director Dick Hauser. Lolly recently completed and recorded a song which
is featured in the short film Requiem 2019, from filmmakers Rutger
Hauer and Sil van der Woerd. The film premiered in Denmark at the end of
August, 2011 and had its Dutch premiere on October 17 of the same year,
when it was screened before the opening of the film De Heineken Ontvoering.
Lolly's full length debut album is expected to be released early Februari 2012.
